January 6, 2022

Andrew P. McCann of Myrtle Beach died suddenly at his home on Christmas Day. He was 49.

Known as Drew, he was a native of Nanuet, N.Y., and had lived in Myrtle Beach for 20 years. He was an Air Force veteran and was remembered as one of those people who, once you met him, you would never forget, his family said.

He is survived by his parents Mary and Corky Raab of Pawleys Island; his siblings, Tina Stanchak of Murrells Inlet, James and Rebecca McCann of New City, N.Y., and Meghan Rader (Ron) of Pawleys Island; his nieces, Morgan and Sterling Stanchak of Murrells Inlet and Olivia and Sophia McCann of New City; his cats, Igor and Nubb; his life-long friends, Bill Bley and Rich Marczan along with Lou, Eric, Chris, Dave and Jeff, “The Original Crew.”

His father, James George McCann, died before him as did two other cherished cats, Marilyn and Twiggy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to All 4 Paws Animal Rescue (all4pawssc.org).

There is a guest book at burroughsfh.com.
