Harvey F. Lowes, 82, retired carpenter

Harvey F. Lowes of Murrells Inlet died March 11 at the Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle Beach. He was 82.
He was born Dec. 11, 1937, in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., the son of John Frederick Lowes and Stella Mae Anderson Lowes.
Mr. Lowes was a hardworking man who was a skilled and dedicated carpenter. He worked for England Construction for many years.
Following his retirement, he was able to enjoy the finer things in life. He was remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patsy Ann Wesley Lowes; his children, Gila May Norris, Debra Lowes and Harvey “Johnny” Lowes (Terri); his grandchildren, Chris E.M. Watkins (Melissa), Jason C. Watkins, William Michael Willard, Andrew M.A. Nelson, William Marcus Ortagus, Rebecca P. Howard (Steven), Tanner J.F. Lowes and Benjamin Henderson (Darlene); his great-grandchildren, Taylor Rae Boyd, Aaron M.A. Nelson, Xander Lowes, Chris Howard and Karley Howard; his brothers, Henry Lowes (Linda), Donald Lowes (Becky), Wayne Lowes (Nancy), Johnny Lowes (Kathleen) and Jimmy Lowes (Sandy); his sisters, Margie Whisner and Dorothy Roxby (George); a large extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
Two other brothers, Fred Lowes (Flora) and Vern Lowes (Melvina); a sister, Katherine Stufflebeam (Clyde), three grandchildren, Roxanne Nelson, David Shelton and Travis Lowes; two great-granddaughters, Abby L. Nelson and Sarah A. McCall Watkins; and a nephew, Howard Wayne “Squally” Wesley, died before him.
A celebration of his life will be held privately.
