Charlie Cook, 74, custom home builder

Charles Dudley Cook IV of Hemingway died Aug. 11 at his home. He was 74.
Known as Charlie, he was born Jan. 30, 1950, in Lake City, the son of Charles Dudley Cook III and Jeanne Bradshaw Cook. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Erskine College and founded CDC Designs, a custom home builder of the highest caliber. Working with his hands was his greatest passion.
Mr. Cook relished the outdoors, whether it was hunting or simply spending time on the water. He was a long-time member of Indiantown Presbyterian Church where he volunteered his time and skills.
He connected with people from all walks of life making him a cherished member of the Indiantown community.
He is survived by his companion of 20 years, Barriedel Llorens; his son, Charles Dudley Cook V (Lauren); and his grandchildren, Hazel and June Cook.
His daughter, Adela Holmes Cook, died before him.
A celebration of his life was held Aug. 15 at Indiantown Presbyterian Church. Inurnment was in the church cemetery.
