Lea Community Association has applied to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management for a permit to rebuild and utilize a walkway 4 X 588 feet and a fixed pier measuring 96 square feet and floating dock 8 X 10 feet for private use, at Oak Lea Community Association located at Berry Tree Drive, Pawleys Island, South Carolina 29585 (TMS# 04-0155-002-00-00). The community dock and walkway extends into the marsh west of Pawleys Island creek. Comments will be received by the Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management, 1362 McMillan Avenue, Suite 400, Charleston, SC 29405 by 15 days after Jan. 23.

William E. Turnipseed has applied to the South Carolina

Department of Health and Environmental Control Office

of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management for a permit to replace damage done to an exterior walkway over the dune to the Beach, an end piece with stairs to the beach, and a  ramp to the beach for access by persons in wheel-chairs or with mobility impairment by Hurricane Dorian in 2019. This work is planned for 714 Springs Avenue, Pawleys Island, SC.     This walkway, endpiece, stairs, and ramp were originally constructed after Hurricane Hugo In 1991.    A permit for the exact same construction was granted by OCRM eighteen months ago (Permit No. 01260) to repair and replace damage done by Hurricane Matthew.   This instant permit application is meant to replicate Permit No. 01260 since the exact same work is sought to be permitted.   Comments must be received by Mr. Matt Slagel, the Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management, 1362 McMillan Ave., Suite 400, Charleston, SC 29405 by February 7, 2020.
