Barry A. Handleman, 84, a fan of classic movies

Barry Allan Handleman of Murrells Inlet died Jan. 28 at his home with his family by his side. He was 84.
He was born Sept. 14, 1940, in Baltimore, the son of Samuel Handleman and Jean Hess Handleman.
Mr. Handleman enjoyed golfing, cooking, playing bridge, listening to oldies music and watching classic movies and westerns. He loved anything Disney and especially cherished Christmas time.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Handleman; his brother, Brian Handleman (Gail) of Bradenton, Fla.; his children, Kimberly Newton (Rich) of Concord, N.C., and Craig Handleman (Holly) of Oceanside, N.Y.; his grandchildren, Ash (Jayce), Tyler, Brayden and Karley; as well as a daughter from a previous marriage, Dana Wootton (Jim) of Glen Burnie, Md., his other grandchildren, Jaime (Eric) and Paige (Michael), and great-grandchildren, Theodora and Michael.
A celebration of his life will be held at noon Saturday at his home.
