Anne McElheron of Pawleys Island died Oct. 17. She was 81.
She was born March 17, 1943, in Glasgow, Scotland, and moved to the United States in 1960.
Ms. McElheron dedicated many years of her life to the Forest Manor Retirement Center in Glen Cove, N.Y., where her caring nature found a professional expression. Her commitment to caring for others extended beyond her career, as she fostered and adopted countless pets throughout her life.
She was remembered for her dedication to her family and her community, and for leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.
She was also an avid traveler, visiting countries all across the globe.
She is survived by her siblings, Margaret, Ina and Monica; her children, Thomas, Andrea, Michael (Jenni) and Paul (Kara); and her grandsons, Michael Jr., Daniel and Stuart.
Another daughter, Susan Gilroy Sweeney, died before her.
