Brian Philip Patke of Pawleys Island died Oct. 3. He was 56.
He was born July 1, 1968, in Oak Lawn, Ill., the son of Wayne and Barbara Patke, and lived in Chicago. He graduated from Purdue University.
Mr. Patke was an avid golfer and a member of True Blue and Caledonia golf clubs. He was also a music lover. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Bears, Purdue sports and cheering on his nephews and niece in all their endeavors.
He is survived by his sister, Beth Shreffler (Jonathan) of Cleveland; his nephews, Justin and Jake Shreffler, and niece, Avery Shreffler, of Cleveland; his uncle, Randy Koch, and cousins, Chris Koch (Nikki) and Greg Koch (Alyson); his aunt, Sheryl Hogan (Richard), and cousins, Kara Goodwin (Jon), Andi Lenahan, Catherine Mosher (Garrett), Stephen Hogan (Brenda) and Colin Hogan, all of Chicago.
A celebration of his life was held at Oct. 26 at Burroughs Funeral Home.
