Charles R. Nease, 71, longtime IP employee
July 24, 2025
Charles Robert Nease of Georgetown died May 22, 2025 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital with his wife and daughter by his side. He was 71.
Known as Chuck, he was born June 8, 1953, in Fairmont, W.Va., the son of William Nease and Wilda Loudin Nease. He graduated from Fairmont Senior High and attended Fairmont State College. He worked in sales in Fairmont and especially enjoyed working at Lowrey Organ Center where he displayed his talent as a keyboard player.
Mr. Nease moved to South Carolina in 1987 and worked at Tupperware and as a contractor until he went to work for International Paper where he spent many years. He retired in 2024 as a logistics driver for Penske.
Mr. Nease learned to fly after moving to South Carolina. He loved to travel, especially to the mountains and for family reunions. He loved time with family, gospel music and playing his keyboard. Another of his favorite things was spending time with his dog, Maddie. As long as he was able, they took long walks together.
He was remembered as intelligent, artistic and possessed with a photographic memory. He had a quiet commitment to helping others.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda; his daughter, Stacey; his brother, Scott (Claudia) of Bridgeport, W.Va.;, his nieces, Emily Micucci (Chad) and Lisa Maynard (Jess); his nephew Josh (Beth); four great-nieces and nephews, Corinne, Carter, Iris and Lyle; and nine cousins.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, the Gary Sinise Foundation or Friendship Place, 1905 Front St., Georgetown, SC 29440.
