Dianne F. Atkinson, 76, organized golf events

Dianne Ferrar Atkinson of Hagley Estates died July 3 after a short illness. She was 76.
She was born Nov. 30, 1947, in Cheverly, Md., the daughter of Charles and Phyllis Ferrar.
She enjoyed morning coffees and dinners with her husband, Dave, Saturday golf with the ladies, organizing golf events, cooking Thanksgiving dinner for her family, and especially cherished time spent with her daughters, grandchildren and first great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband of 36 years, she is survived by her daughters Barbara VanSchoor (Rick), Susan Milwit and Cindy Brown (Joe); her brother, Charles Ferrar (Beverly); her grandchildren Allison Bowen (Matt), Aaron VanSchoor, Molly Milwit, Andrew Milwit, Jocelyn Brown and Olivia Brown; her great-granddaughter, Evelyn; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her sister, Phyllis Bass and her brother-in-law, James Bass, died before her.
A memorial service will be held on Sept. 13 at 5 p.m. at St. Paul’s Waccamaw Methodist Church.
