James C. Sinkavich, 85, Air Force vet served in Vietnam

James C. Sinkavich of Murrells Inlet died Oct. 21 at his home. He was 85.
He was born Sept. 10, 1939, in Du Bois, Pa., the son of Sigmund A. Sinkey and Mary T. Sinkey.
He served in the Air Force in Vietnam and obtained the rank of staff sergeant. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 159 in Flemington, N.J., and VFW Post 10420 in Murrells Inlet.
Mr. Sinkavich enjoyed horse racing, scratch-offs and spending time with his beloved granddaughter and her fiancé.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Sinkavich; his daughter, Cheryl Stehr (Ken) of Flemington; his granddaughter, Christa Stehr (Vincent) of Flemington; his sister, Sylvia Biggie of Du Bois; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church.
