Kent Field, 42, worked at Heritage golf club

Robert Kent Field of Pawleys Island, who worked in the golf industry, died Jan. 18. He was 42.
Known as Kent, he was born in Florence, the son of Robert Field and the late Yvonne Free Field. He graduated from South Florence High School and Horry-Georgetown Technical College, where he earned a degree in golf course management.
Mr. Field was dedicated to his craft and was an expert in his field. He worked at many golf courses in the Grand Strand area and his hometown of Florence. He had worked at The Heritage Club since 2010.
He was an avid golfer, loved his family, friends and dogs. He was remembered for his kindness and generosity.
In addition to his father, he is survived by a sister, Mary Alice Dewitt (Jonathan); two nephews, Charlie and Davis Dewitt; his grandparents, Phin and Mary Free; his uncles, Jack Field (Tammy), Barry Free (Lisa), Larry Free (Terry), Jimmy Free (Linda); numerous cousins and a multitude of friends.
In addition to his mother, his grandparents, Charles and Alice Field, died before him.
A celebration of his life will be held Feb. 3 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Heritage Club.
