Pamela R. Kerschner of Pawleys Island died July 22 following a long illness.  She was 90.

She was born May 5, 1934, in Beckley, W.Va., the daughter of Robert C. Carr Jr. and Betty Katherine Brubaker Carr. 

Pam graduated with honors from Mullens High School in 1961. She attended the University of Maryland’s Bowie campus and the National Cryptologic School. She had a 20-year career as an analyst with the National Security Agency.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gerald A. “Jerry” Kerschner; her daughter, Traci Lynn Kerschner; a grandson, Mathew Taylor; her siblings Rebecca Cook (Robert), Robert C. Carr III (Daisy), Margaret Balcer (Paul Hartman), and Mary Beth Ferraro (Joseph); her niece, Renee Preston; her nephews, Robert L. Cook II, Andrew Balcer, Joseph Balcer, Chris Carr and Jason Carr; a grandniece, Lauren Lamb; a grandnephew, Logan Lamb; and two great-grandnieces.

A private service will be held.
