Phil Dellasega, 82, former IBM executive

John Philip Dellasega of DeBordieu died May 16 at his home. He was 82.
Known as Phil, he was born Dec. 27, 1942, the son of John Joseph and Evelyn Lindsay Dellasega.
He graduated from Swainsboro High School before earning a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Georgia Tech, where he also excelled as a tennis scholar.
He earned a second bachelor’s degree in finance from Syracuse University and an MBA from Stanford University. His academic achievements paved the way for a successful career at IBM, where he rose to the position of senior vice president of finance.
Beyond his professional life, Mr. Dellasega was an active member of Georgetown Presbyterian Church. His love for sports continued throughout his life, enjoying golf, tennis, football and being a vibrant part of the DeBordieu Club and community.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Buckley Dellasega; his children, Christa Corsi (Dan), Patrick Dellasega (Lindsay), Michael Gerrity (Elizabeth), Meghan Henry (Royce) and Lawrence Gerrity; his grandchildren, Chris, Zach and Ryan Corsi, Tyler, Owen and Sadie Dellasega, Nio and Jet Henry.
His first wife, Nancy Flanders Dellasega, died before him.
