Thomas Marion Wilson III, 84, passed away peacefully Oct. 28 at NHC of Garden City. He was 84,
He was born Oct. 2, 1940, in Raleigh, N.C., the son of Thomas M. Wilson Jr. and Clota Braswell Wilson. Tom graduated from University of North Carolina with a business degree.
After moving to South Carolina in 1977, Mr. Wilson worked as the shipping manager for Georgetown Steel until his retirement in 2000.
In his free time, he loved to travel, especially to Roatan, Honduras, where he was loved by many.
He is survived by his wife of over 21 years, Taryn Gordon Wilson; his children, Chris Wilson (Ali) and his grandson, Jennings, of Mount Pleasant, Amanda Hughes of Murrells Inlet and J. Wesley Hughes (Isla) of Murrells Inlet; his grandchildren, Bryan and Jesse; his brother, Jim Wilson (Brenda) of Greensboro, N.C., and his niece, Traci, of Las Vegas; and a large extended family.
A celebration of his life will be held today at noon at Burroughs Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Belin United Methodist Church cemetery.
