Clyde J. Davis, 87, cared for feral cat colony

January 16, 2020

Clyde J. Davis of Pawleys Plantation died Dec. 29 at his home. He was 87.

He was born June 16, 1932, in Niles, Calif., the son of George Davis and Susie Amaral Davis of Union City, Calif.

Mr. Davis served in the Air Force as a flight engineer during the Korean War.

He was later employed for over 30 years by Santa Clara County Public Works Department in California.

He retired and moved to Pawleys Island in 1998 where he enjoyed playing golf, fishing and relaxing on the beach with a book.

Mr. Davis loved all animals, but his passion was cats, his own and the feral colony he fed and looked after for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathy Davis; two sons, George Davis and Michael Sargenti, both of California; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and three beloved cats.

In addition to his parents, two sisters, Cherry Faria and Georgia Paislay, died before him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent at grahamfuneralhome.org.
