Rosalie R. Oetzel of Pawleys Island died April 4. She was 95.

She was born Jan. 7, 1924, in Philadelphia, the daughter of Sam and Mary Faber.  She grew up and spent most of her life in the Philadelphia area until moving to the Georgetown/Pawleys Island area in 1988.  Mrs. Oetzel was a member of Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband, John; sister, Anne Cepluch and brother, Francis Faber.  

She is survived by her sons, John T. Oetzel (Patricia) and Terence Oetzel (Susan); her grandchildren, John Oetzel (Keri), Matthew Oetzel (Irene), Katie Roberson (Jim), Amy Ryan (Mike) and Beth Burner (Craig); her great-grandchildren, Jamie Oetzel (Arielle), Nichole Gallegos, William Gallegos, Spencer Oetzel, Ethan Oetzel, Payton Burner and Madison Ryan; and her great-great grandchildren, Elijah Oetzel and Abigail Oetzel.

Her family thanks the staff at Home Instead Senior Care and the Lakes at Litchfield for the care and compassion they provided.

A funeral Mass will be held April 24 at 10 a.m. at Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church. Interment will be in the columbarium. A one-hour visitation period will precede the Mass for those who wish to pay their last respects at that time.  

The services will be followed by a memorial gathering in the Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the church, 1633 Waverly Rd., Pawleys Island, SC 29585.
